Debi McConnell, Owner

“Many customers ask me how I came to buy an auto repair shop…

While I worked with a business broker to find an existing company to buy, the possibility of an auto repair shop surfaced. This resonated deeply with me as I thought about my personal experience getting my vehicle serviced and frankly, the experience was rarely positive. Often I didn’t feel I really understood the car issue or recommended repair and felt pressured to give the approval (sometimes with threats that my car would “explode” if I didn’t do the repair).

I now saw a clear opportunity to create an auto repair business that represented much more than a profit and loss statement and didn’t treat employees as numbers. I wanted to create a business that treated customers with up most respect and provide extraordinary customer service. I wanted to create a business that lived by its motto of Auto Repair With Honesty, Integrity and Quality.

So that’s why I bought the shop and created Medi-CAR Auto Repair.”

Susan Moynihan, Director

How long have you been in the auto repair industry (and doing what?)
“I’ve worked for Auto Parts Retailers for 7 years before opening my own shop.  I was in various different Corporate positions from Director of Merchandising at Advance Auto Parts, to Senior Director of Sales at Factory Motor Parts to Senior Director of Supply Chain and Operations.  I’ve built a shop from scratched and owned that for over a year and a half.”

What is the most rewarding part about fixing or advising on customer cars?
“I love helping people more easily understand what is going on with their cars.  Most people feel overwhelmed by the experience.  I love helping ease their minds and educate them on what they need to know to maintain their vehicles.”

What one piece of advice would you offer to car owners?
“Listen to your car and don’t neglect it.  They need maintenance and care just like anything else.”

What is your secret passion other than fixing cars?
“Sports, I grew up playing basketball, softball, tennis and football.  I’m competitive so I love the thrill of the win!  I also love decorating, my super secret passion is creating an environment people enjoy being in.  Decorating and creating the lobby area in Woodbury was a lot of fun for me!  I also love spending time with my kids.  I have two bright and fun kids that I love spending time with!”

Marc Anderson, Service Advisor

How long have you been in the auto repair industry (and doing what?)
“I have been in the auto industry for 16 years. Working on cars was my first job. Automotive repair is a sort of family tradition. I started out as a general service tech, and worked in that position for three years. I have always been a people person and was drawn toward the front counter. I have been working the front counter or managing stores for the last 13 years.”

What is the most rewarding part about fixing or advising on customer cars?
“For me its getting the chance to legitimately help people. When you develop relationships with people you become more then just their “car guy”. Earning someone’s trust is the ultimate compliment. I look forward to helping people through their challenges and take pride in being there for people to lean on in times of need.”

What one piece of advice would you offer to car owners?
“Stay as up to date on your recommended maintenance schedule as possible. The number one thing that leads to a vehicle break down is lack of maintenance.”

What is your secret passion other than fixing cars?
“I enjoy spending time with my family. I love camping, hunting, and fishing. I am an amateur drag racer.”

Nick Pritschet, Master Technician

How long have you been in the auto repair industry (and doing what?)
“I have been in the industry since 2001, so 16 years.”

What is the most rewarding part about fixing or advising on customer cars?
“Taking pride in me work and having a higher standard in making sure my repairs are done correctly the first time. I believe customer piece of mind is very important”

What one piece of advice would you offer to car owners?
“have your oil changed at the recommended intervals and check fluids regularly.”

What is your secret passion other than fixing cars?
“Fishing!”

Tylor Chin, General Service Technician
