Extended Warranties: Med-CAR Doc Talk
In today’s competitive business environment, organizations are concentrating not just on sales, but the aftermarket promises – made in the form of extended warranties. Will your extended warranty cover all automotive repair bills? How do I go about reporting or initiating my extended warranty claim? Please look below!
Will your extended warranty cover all automotive repair bills?
This is a question that comes up quite often with our Medi-CAR customers. Our first response to this question usually stats “not including wear and tear” items on your vehicle. Extended warranty agreements are not created equal, so going through the section “General Contract Exclusions” is seriously recommended. Understanding what is covered and what is not covered is very important and could relieve stress if something does fail.
How do I go about reporting or initiating my extended warranty claim?
If the vehicle is inoperable, and to prevent further damage, immediately stop the vehicle and call road side assistance as specified in your contract. It is your responsibility to use all reasonable means and precautions to protect the vehicle from further damage. Call an automotive repair shop that you trust. Explain the situation as detailed as possible. Medi-CAR Auto repair has dealt with many extended warranty companies and can make this process go as smoothly as possible. We will call in the repairs to your warranty company, also be prepared in most situations to pay for the diagnostic up front.
This is not a question, but more of an informative note for consumers. In the past we have heard of certain extended warranty companies going bankrupt. I’d advise to call your extended warranty company to verify they are still an organization.
